Drupal Connect is a full service Drupal firm, offering Drupal development, training and staffing services. The company is made up of nearly 50 Drupal Developers and is engaged with over 100 clients throughout North America and Europe, including prominent fortune 500: companies such as Sony Music, Waste Management, GE, A&E, NY Stock Exchange and NBC. Drupal Connect was founded in 2009 by John Florez, who previously owned Drupal Staffing. Drupal Connect’s headquarters are located in New York City, NY & has virtual offices in Portland, OR, Boston, MA, Austin, TX Newport, RI, and Montreal, QC.
Participating in the Drupal Community
With nearly 50 full-time Drupal developers, Drupal Connect is actively building and sharing with the Drupal community. Drupal Connect’s Steve Edwards is spearheading the Drupal Podcasts with Acquia, which interviews people doing cool things with Drupal web application framework. Drupal Connect has also led a session at the PNW Drupal Summit in October 2010 on Apache Solr for Developers using community contributed modules. We actively participate in the community on drupal.org and sponsor multiple Drupal Camps every year. The goal of each camp is to educate attendees on Drupal, facilitate discussions around it’s content management framework, and promote cross-learning.
Drupal Development Philosophy
As a company, we view Drupal as a tool and a great tool for building websites. We like the modular approach that Drupal provides and the "don't re-invent the wheel" on every project. Our developers use a contributed module and override it until they arrive at the desired functionality for their particular use case. Then, Drupal Connect evaluates whether or not these changes should be contributed back to the community as a patch for the contributed module. Using community contributed modules allows developers to rapidly extend the usefulness of Drupal.. This is much easier than building every feature from the ground up. This approach works well for us & it continues to strengthen the Drupal community.
